The SATAQ-4R is a self-report questionnaire designed to measure the internalization of societal appearance ideals and perceived pressures from various sources such as media, peers, and family. This revised version is composed of a female version, with 31 items, and a male version, with 28 items. Both present 7 factors: (1) Internalization: thin/low body fat, (2) Internalization: muscular, (3) Internalization: general attractiveness, (4) Pressures: family; (5) Pressures: media, (6) Pressures: peers, (7) Pressures: significat others.

This tool is useful for assessing the extent to which individuals internalize societal standards of appearance and feel pressured to conform to these standards.
