The Australian National Minimum Dataset (MDS) framework for eating disorders describes the agreed core data elements (e.g., medical status, quality of life, co-occurring illness, treatment type, BMI and recent weight change) that should be consistently collected across services and settings to enable effective assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of eating disorder care.

What this tool is good for:

This framework is useful for guiding consistent data collection across the eating‐disorders sector in Australia. It aims to enable reliable monitoring of service delivery and outcomes, support research and quality improvement, and inform the development of a national registry.
