Authors

Janet D. Latner, Jonathan M. Mond, Mackenzie C. Kelly, Stephen N. Haynes, Phillipa J. Hay (2014)

The LOCES is a multidimensional scale designed to assess the subjective perception of loss of control over eating. In addition to the global scale score, it contains 3 subscales assessing: (1) Behavioral Aspects, (2) Cognitive/Dissociative Aspects, and (3) Positive/Euphoric Aspects.

What this tool is good for:

This tool is good for assessing the severity and frequency of loss of control over eating episodes, which is a significant indicator of eating pathology and related psychological distress.
