The EPSI is a 45-item self-report measure, developed to asses eating disorder pathology among a wide variety of populations. It contains 8 subscales that assess: (1) Body Dissatisfaction, (2) Binge Eating, (3) Cognitive Restraint, (4) Purging, (5) Excessive Exercise, (6) Restricting, (7)Negative attitudes towards Muscle Building, and (8) Negative Attitudes Toward Obesity.

This tool is useful for identifying and assessing various dimensions of eating disorder symptoms. The EPSI also shows good reliability across genders and age groups.
