The Eating Disorder Examination (EDE) is an interview assessment of eating disorder psychopathology. It provides an assessment of the range and severity of eating disorder symptoms. A version adapted for use in children and adolescents aged 8 years and older is also available. The current version (17.0) refers to DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
What this tool is good for:
The EDE provides a detailed measure of the range and severity of eating disorder features, including concerns about shape, weight, and eating behaviors. It has been widely used in both clinical settings and research to better understand the psychopathology of eating disorders, and to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments.
