Dialectical Behavioural Therapy

Authors

Marsha Linehan (1993)

DBT is an extensive therapeutic method aimed at assisting individuals with significant emotion regulation challenges. It has been modified for treating eating disorders by concentrating on decreasing maladaptive coping behaviors and enhancing emotional regulation.

What this tool is good for:

DBT is effective for individuals with complex and treatment-resistant eating disorders. Studies focusing on DBT have indicated that it may be successful at reducing the frequency of binge-eating for BED and BN.
